Clinch Academy Code of Conduct
When you become a member at Clinch Academy, you are not simply joining a gym. Our hope is that you will NOT find Clinch Academy to be a place you just go to train, but a place of physical and personal transformation that carries over into all aspects of your life.
Be clean. Our community strives for cleanliness in all areas. Clean Gi, Clean Gear, Clean body, Clean Speech, Clean attitude and Clean Technique!
Our community is here to help you succeed and reach your goals. We are a team and family! We always practice Self-Control. In order for us to be able to train hard it is imperative we are also focused on keeping each other safe by utilizing self-control. Self-control starts first with the tongue. Keep your speech clean at all times. Do not use foul or abusive language. The control of your tongue should also flow over into your control on the mat when practicing and sparring.
Our community practices respect for one another. Respect is giving special attention and care toward others. Demonstrate respect by giving special attention and care of the Academy and equipment, your training partner’s safety and boundaries, and by using good manners. We believe that as you excel in rank that you should not be demanding more respect but rather demonstrating more respect.
We are a self-defense academy and therefore have zero tolerance for any form of abuse or bullying. Any form of verbal, physical or sexual abuse is against the way of the warrior.
We strive to excel in the Clinch Warrior Code. Our warrior code consist of Faithfulness, Humbleness, Goodness, Awareness, and Aliveness. Learn more about our Warrior Code at https://www.clinchacademy.com/warrior-code
We are a growth minded community. We seek personal growth as well as team growth.
We strive to live healthy by living an active lifestyle, but also by giving attention to, and guarding what we eat, watch and listen to. Living healthy is not just about the energy you put out but also what you put in, through your mouth, eyes and ears.
Our community likes to learn and serve using the 5 L’s. The 5 L’s are Look, Listen, Learn, Live and Lead. In order to learn we must pay attention with our eyes, ears and mind (Look, Listen, Learn). We must put to practice and implement what we learn (Live) and by living out what we learn, we become leaders who serve.
We strive for humility not pride. Humility focuses on others while pride focuses on self.
We strive for confidence and not arrogance. Confidence comes from proper preparation, while arrogance is simply a mask for a lack of confidence.
