Clinch Combat Challenge Rules Sheet
Our goal though competing is not to win but to finish the match. For this reason, I have made the the rules and points system to match that goal. Another goal is to be able to compete with each other at a fairly high level with out hurting one another. After all we are just a bunch of friends trying to help each other learn and grow. With this in mind it is important that we follow the rules and try our best to use control and technique as the main source of victory.

- 10 pts for full take down landing in any side control position
- Mount = 10 pts
- Back Mount with Hooks in = 10 pts
- Any other top position (exept top guard) = 5pts
- You will get 5 pts for your original position but no points for going from one to the next. Only when you mount or back mount will you be rewardede more points for position advancement. If your opponent escapes your top control and you later restablish it, you will recieve pts.
- Sweeps from the Guard
- 5 pts if landing in opponents guard, half guard or up on knees
- 10 pts for full sweep to any side control position

- Ways to win for Submission Grappling and Jiu-Jitsu
- By Submission
- By Scoring the most points in the second round if there is no submission
- Referee calls a stop to the match
- If it is a draw by the end of the second round there will be a sudden death take down match. Whoever scores the take down wins the match!
- There will be 2, 5 minute rounds for MMA. Points will be scored each round on an overall basis.
- There are 3 ways to gain points in an MMA match.
- Overall dominance on the feet (Striking)
- Overall dominance with take downs
- Overall positional dominance on the ground
- There will be 2 judges who decide who dominated each catagory. You get 5 or 10 pts for dominating a catagory.
Example: Lets say that you that the striking game was pretty equal. The judges score a 10/5 round giving one a slight advantage.
Let's say that one fighter dominates the stand up. The judges would score a 10/0 round giving the points to the overall dominator.
Maybe in the take downs there was only one take down. Thats 10/0. If there was 2 take one each, thats 5/5 If there were 3 take
downs 2 to 1 that would be a 10/5. On the ground, let's say that one gets side control and a mount than thats a 10/0. If there is a
side control and mount but than the other one gets an active guard thats a 10/5. (We will discuss more in class about this)
- Points will be scored for both rounds. So in the end, to win by points you must have the most amount of dominance points.
Example: round 1 = (Stand up) 10/5, (Take downs) 10/0, (Ground control) 5/10
round 2 = 10/5, 5/5, 5/5 the left guy has 45 pts, the right has 30 pts.
